SNMP Issues

Hi Community,

I have some problems with monitoring our UTM via SNMP.
It seems, that the provided MIB is not up2date or maybe invalid?

When I do a SMTP-Walk to get all objects and values, the returned OID's don't match with the ones provided by the MIB-File.

I would like to monitor the advanced threat protection (CRIT-861), but the returned value couldn't be correct (a it shows boot-time plus a few second, but the last alert was just a few hours ago... not weeks...)

Has anyone experienced the same problems or has anyone get it to work properly?

Which MIB file are you referring to?

The MIB that you download from the UTM gateway, is a trap MIB, not a query MIB.

I've been also working on queries, but when referencing the Sophos documentation, I see a pointer to an appendix, which, doesn't exist.

If anyone is able to point us in the right direction, for SNMP queries... that'd be awesome!

Yeah, it hasn't been updated in awhile. My suggestion, if you have a paid license, is to contact support to open up a case. Support won't be able to pop you out an updated MIB, but they can send the word upstream to those who can get it fixed.

Thanks Scott!

I've been doing walks of my UTM for a bit, trying to get important MIBs. I'll try and get a list together in the next week or two of what I've found, but... I don't know how many of them are the same per device.
