BGP configuration

Hello!
I need to configure BGP using two ISP, so I'm looking for additional information how to do this. Admin guide doesn't help very much, because I am beginner in this stuff.
May be somebody can show me real configuration of BGP.
Thanks

  • You have an ASN assigned to you for this purpose, right? That's the starting point. Basically, you'd set up your UTM's BGP instance with your ASN and advertise your "External" interface, which should be using the block of public IP addresses you're going to advertise. You'd then create two neighbors, one for each ISP. They'll give you the addresses of their BGP neighbor routers.

UTM uses Quagga for BGP so you might want to have a look at Quagga Software Routing Suite. The Quagga documentation does assume that you know something about BGP though. The UTM hides a lot of the complexity of Quagga.

I configure BGP but one peer sends packets with length 0. State/PfxRcd is in Connect state. And nothing happens. Route table not received.
  • Hi adla-dschmitt,

Thanks for the guidance it is helpful. Further I need to know the BGP security by using SG 310 box this will help to make it secure.

Once more thing I want to know Is there any other option we can use apart from BGP pairing.

    Thanks.

    Regards
    Kanwal
