Traceroute from Astaro, Over a manually specified interface?

Shortstory: I would like to ping or traceroute to an external source (8.8.8.8 is fine) via a specified interface, in my case int/eth 1

Backstory:I have comcast on int/eth1, it went down (as it does rather routinely) so i switch to eth2 as the default ipv4 gateway (routes internet through another location)

I would like to remotely test if comcast is functioning again before i switch the ipv4 default gateway back and break any current connections.

Yes i could call comcast but who trusts them? Yes i could drive over with a laptop and plug into the comcast modem, but why bother if i can do it from my comfy chair?

    if you have command line access you can try using the "-i" switch. For example:
    tracerooute -i eth1 8.8.8.8

    sorry for the late reply, but i must be missing a command to enter a different mode on the astaro via the command line?

    im running version 8.x , logged in via ssh, and whether as the loginuser or su to root, i can not traceroute, tracert, "command not found"
