Bug in Executive report ?

traffic wise I am aware that it will pass different interfaces and one would need to drill down to specifics to find out what is what.

However, it doesn't make any sense to me that when you specifically choose to see "recipients" or "senders" that it double counts / shows the exact same number.
That more or less makes the report useless in regards of the big picture.

Might just be me, but I really would have expected to see the correct number of incomming or outgoing mails - that would be "totals" by the filter option selected.

my comparison between the byte count and the mail count is not quite correct.
If you examine the report and assume you don't have any blocked for spam etc you do get the big picture of the 10 recipients and the top 10 senders. If you look a the mail counts for each of the top 10 you can get a reasonable picture in my opinion.
I am also not sure what you are expecting from a report that only covers the top 10 users?

Well, wasn't making a comparison in that manner. Nevermind though..

I do understand that "total mails" is actually total mails - everything ( not counting blocked ).

I am just stating that there are two ways to read this- at least.
When you are in a view ( or filtering if you prefer ), I believe most people would expect that "Total" is the the sum of everything in the view and even so in a report.
No doubt an engineer would think it logic to present that the firewall recieves the mail and then sends it to the users mail server. Counting double as you stated.
However, I think most admins would apreciate the view where a mail recieved and not rejected as spam would be consideret as only recieved and not both.

Meaning, when "Senders" is selected as a view - I sure would read it as "here are the top 10 senders" and "here are the total of mails send"
Not, "Here are top 10 sender" and "here are all mails processed by the filter"

Since most views like "Top Reciptients" actually collects and presents the entire resultset you can move forward in like pages, I believe the logic presentation of "totals" would be to show the total amount of mails recieved ( not counting the firewall it self as a reciptient ).

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to explain the numbers. I do however still find the presentation very odd.
