Ok, I have been staring at this and looking all over the web for a solution... I cannot get SYSLOG working on my UTM 9.201-23..
I have enabled remote syslog, created the server entry, selected the syslog port and selected the logs I want it to send to the syslog server and the server is getting nothing..
I have tried two different servers:
Free Syslog Server | Kiwi Free Edition
Download Syslog Watcher, EventLog Inspector, FreeTools | SnmpSoft Website
I have even installed wireshark on the syslog server and best I can tell is not one packet is being sent to the syslog server from my gateway. Even though they are on the same subnet, I have added firewall rules just in case there MAY have been a drop. From looking at the firewall logs on the UTM, which sometimes works and sometimes doesnt itself, I see nothing trying to send packets to the syslog server...
I am at a loss.
I saw this option for testing the cifs option via command line:
Logging: CIFS Remote Log File options
Is there a command line I can run in the console to test/debug the syslog functionality..
Thanks...
