PPPoE Interface and BT Infinity Issues

Hi all, 

I have registered this with premium support but thought I would check with the community to see if any helpful person on here could point me in right direction. 

We recently purchased a UTM 320 appliance and the set up in general has gone quite smoothly. That was until I have tried attaching it to our BT Infinity Services (FTTC) via their own OpenReach Modem. 

As soon as I set the this connected (WAN1) as our default gateway no one can get any Internet Services and I am unable to ping any outside service (using 8.8.8.8 but have tried others). If I move the DG back to the LAN and set an internal gateway then everything works fine. 

The PPPoE connection seems to be connected fine as state is showing as UP and the log doesn't show any obvious issues. 

I have shut down all non essential services as this isn't in our production environment yet. I have ensured firewall rules are letting the correct traffic in and out of the device

WAN1 is set as 
Type: PPPOE
VDSL: Unticked (also tried ticked)
Static PPPOE IP: Ticked (again also tried via DHCP And same issue)
IPv4 Address: Our Static IP
Network: Our mask as supplied by ISP
IPv4 Gateway: Ticked
Username and Password: both filled in as per our ISP login details
MTU: tried various values but now set on 1456 as found a support case that said PPPOE static addresses needed this value

    HI, Nick, and welcome to the User BB!

    If this is the first time you've used the UTM, then you're a brave soul to design the configuration without help. [;)] It's very easy to adapt and maintain if the initial installation is done cleanly.

    Those log lines look like the connection was made successfully.  Try #1 in https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/51/t/22065.  Look at the Zeroeth Rule, too.

    The majority of the set up has gone okay surprisingly. Although we probably are not really touching the surface of what it can do. 

    I found the cause of my issues and was a bit of rookie mistake. I forgot to add an outbound NAT masquerading rule from my Internal Network to the WAN port. I have not had to do this on previous routers we have used. As soon as I did this everything sprang to life. 

    The next issue was getting our Lync install working. I have it working fine using DNAT but may have a go getting part of it working via the web server protection next. Seems a lot of people have issues with Lync and the UTM so will be interesting to see how I get on.
