Daily Executive Report Issue

Folks,

I'm running into an issue where my Daily, Weekly and Monthly Executive Reports are not being sent via email. Email is working as I'm able to receive HA Notifications, Login Notifications, etc.

My Device Agent log reports the following:
2014:02:27-11:50:58 Tornado-1 device-agent[6063]: Creating 'daily' reporting data
2014:02:27-11:50:58 Tornado-1 device-agent[6063]: reporting.change': daily
2014:02:27-11:50:58 Tornado-1 device-agent[6063]: Cannot create reporting Data: /var/wfe/var/rrd-images/images_2//itfusage_eth0_daily.png does not exist

Upon logging in via SSH, it is clear that the images_2 symlink does not contain that image, however, the following directories do contain that image:
/var/wfe/var/rrd-images
/var/wfe/var/rrd-images/images_1

It seems as though the /var/sec/chroot-httpd/var/webadmin/var/rrd-images directory gets wiped every 15 minutes, so my idea of linking images_2 to a different directory was futile.

I've done some digging and it seems that there has been reports that this was a bug some time ago, however, has been addressed and fixed. That being said, I recently switched over to an ESXi Model and in doing so, I used the ESX 9.003 build to create the virtual machine. [:O] Via Up2Date, I was able to update to 9.108-23, which is my current build. My concern, however, is that perhaps by starting out with an older build, in this case 9.003, I'm stuck with this error unless I recreate the VM with an ISO after said issue had been fixed? [:S]

    Do you have this issue after Up2Dating to V9.109-1?  In any case, the accepted wisdom here is that you should install the software ISO on ESXi and use the VMXNET3 drivers.

    I'll update to the latest and report back here. If that doesn't work, I'll have to reinstall with the ISO. Thanks Bob!

    As it turns out, changing the symlink of images_2 to /var/wfe/var/rrd-images which in turn links it to /var/sec/chroot-httpd/var/log/reporting/images did the trick. Seems as though those stick around every 15 minutes; just the images are deleted. [:S]

    Now I'm not condoning it, as I'm likely to reinstall in the near future anyway via an ISO, however, this fixed the error and Executive Reports are being mailed again.

    Bob, I did change the Linux Kernel to Other 2.6x in order to utilize the VMXNET3 Interfaces. I also updated to 9.109-1 and it still seems like it is working. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it's a fair case as my symlink change still exists.
