DynDNS Not working with Namecheap

I just switched my domains to Namecheap, so that I could use the DynDNS feature. Problem is, it worked ONCE (I think, not 100% sure), and now no longer works. I've left it for a day, hoping it would update, without success. A few odd symptoms: When I configure things in a way where it probably won't work, I get:
DynDNS status is: The last update attempt failed.
DynDNS modified: Wed Dec 31 19:00:00 1969

If I configure things where it should work, I get:
DynDNS status is: No update has been attempted.
DynDNS modified: Wed Feb 5 23:49:51 2014

(Yes, that is the date I just got today, Feb 11)

In the log file, with things configured properly, I get this:
2014:02:11-23:06:48 uar ddclient[12127]: WARNING: file /var/cache/ddclient/ddclient.cache, line 5: Invalid Value for keyword 'ip' = ''

I'm running firmware 9.107-33

I've rebooted, with the same results. Any ideas?

The client won't attempt to update your address unless and until it changes.

Thanks for the response.

If it waits for the WAN to change, that's not very easy to test to make sure everything is working OK. Is this how it works? Or does it just compare the current IP address with the one configured with Namecheap, and change if it's different?
How can you force it to check? I've turned it off and on, and removed it and reconfigured multiple times, without luck.

Hi, if you really want to force it, you have to stop ddclient, delete the cache file, and start it again.

The file is in the chroot for ddclient, and then under var

I'm guessing that can't be done through the GUI? Is that the command line? (I never had much luck logging in from there) Or is it using something like putty?

What you get via putty is the command line.

I assumed that, but when I try to log in to the local console, I get "Login incorrect", which is why I mentioned putty.

Unfortunately, I'm not an Astaro guru. If I manage to get a command line, what commands would I use to stop ddclient, and what is the name of the cache file?

At the console, log in as root with the same root password you would use via ssh.

Someone else will have to answer how to stop and restart ddclient, but the cache file is at /var/cache/ddclient/ddclient.cache

And if you can't remember your root password, you can reset it via the GUI at Management --> System Settings --> Shell Access --> Shell user passwords.
