I think I may have found a bug in the SNMP v3 implementation on version 9.107-33. Don't know if it is or if it is on other versions, so consider it suspect until confirmed.
Basically I can setup the SNMP v2c string fine, but if I try setting things up for SNMP v3, it won't allow me to continue until I put in a username and password that is at least 8 characters long. So far so good. However, once I comply with these requirements, I get an error that states:
The snmp->auth_password configuration requires an SNMP string.
Now for 1, I thought the point was to get away from an SNMP string in the way it was in SNMP 1 & 2; but more importantly, if that is right - where do I put it?!? I already have a string for v2c, so it isn't that - nor should it be, but I tried it just in case. I just can't figure it out. Any ideas?
To that admins, I don't know where to post this, so if it is wrong, please correct as needed. This was the first time I ran into anything wrong with this, so I didn't know where to go with the issue.
