Static DHCP Leases on LAN and Port 443 Exposed on WAN by Default?

Hello,

I'm a newbie to UTM9.1 (Home Edition) and have a few questions:

1)  How do I configure the LAN DHCP server to statically assign the same IP address to a particular device?

2) I ran a utility called "Shields Up" and it appears that port 443 is automatically exposed to the Internet - any ideas why?  Is for remote configuration across the internet?

3) I attempted to answer my own questions using this:

But it appears to be outdated, is there a 9.1 version of this guide?

    Hi & welcome!

    The current manual should be available from web admin under Support.

    If you look at the DHCP settings, there is a IPv4 (and an IPv6) Leases tab, from there you can add static IP mappings (in 9.1 this creates a new network defintion with the MAC pinned to it).

    Put the new address OUTSIDE the DHCP range.

    You'll need to release and renew the client's DHCP lease to get the new address after you change it.


    port 443 may be open for the User Portal; you can disable that or change the port.

    btw, please post the exact version # (e.g. 9.106) if you have more questions.
