The issue we are having is we can not get the virtual servers that are on separate vlans to communicate to each other but the PC on the Bridged connection has no issue communicating with the servers and vise-versa.
Now for the setup and reasons for such
Hardware List :- UTM520 with optional 2/10gb module connected to HP 5412 switch, ESXi servers running distributed switch,
The Bridge (br0 – ports A1(Ext.),A2(Int.)) – the reason for this is because we are required to have the same ip range on the ext. side as the int. side [:(] (Something we can’t change – the ip address bring the same on both side not the bridge).
It is currently set to vlan ID 208 and is for the most part working great.
The Link Aggregation (LAG0 – Ports A7, A8, B1) this is to maximize the bandwidth for the other separated vlans.
It has Vlan IDs 10,20,30,40,50, to name a few
The VLans: The reason for the Vlans is because we are a school we are sepearating all the classrooms from each other and from the servers, storage, printers and staffroom so the students can only see what we want them to and we get a clearer picture of what they are up to.
Currently only working with 3 vlans as once this is sorted the rest should follow 208(Main Network - 192.168.208.x), 30 (Printers - 192.168.30.x) and 50(Servers – 192.168.50.x)
All vlans are tagged on the switch ports for the LAG0 and the servers and the virtual servers are set to there correct vlan ID and are able to ping the UTM and the user pc on 208 but server on 30 is not able to ping server on 50 and vise-versa. Also able to ping and ip address on the UTM - 192.168.208.2, 30.1, and 50.1
Tried adding both vlans and br0 to a firewall rule to allow any to any (included IGMP and Ping) at the top but still luck
