I've been tracking an issue at small church. They have a guest wifi provisioned. When a user would connect to the guest wifi, it would take FOR EVER to get an IP back, yet with the lease time set short, there are plenty of IP's available. They might run 40 wifi connections at any one time.
So in troubleshooting this, I've learned that there could be 200 leases in the lease file, most of which are expired. I also learned that clearing the expired leases is pretty easy - just stop and restart the dhcp scope in the UTM. And that's where the magic happens, as soon as that lease file is cleared of expired leases, DHCP response time comes back to normal.
I"ve searched the forums, and didn't see anything related. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just some n00b mistake?
