I'm configuring an Astaro system where I would like to use vlans. However, I'm noticing some really strange problems I thought it was the on board nic
that was causing the problem at first but now I know its not. I'm using a dual Intel Pro PT1000 gigabit nic I have one interface that I'm using for
management and the other interface is being used for vlans. So I go in and create a vlan interface and assign it an ip address and the correct vlan tag
after that I enable the newly created vlan interface connect the nic to the switch port and that vlan interface never comes up. The funny thing is the
IP that I assigned to the vlan interface can be pinged without the physical nic that was used to create the vlan being plugged in. It's like Astaro is
running everything through the management nic and ignoring the vlan interface all together.
