QoS Logical ?

Dear all,

I have 2x interface I want to control bandwith.
- LAN : no control
- Guest : fix limitation bandwith to 1024Kbp/s

If I understand well logic, I must :

- keep desactivated LAN inside QoS menu (to be sure not control)
- Activated Guest inside QàS menu with my bandwith limitation to 1024 Kbp/s ?

I don't want place a priority on this Guest interface, for me It's just a limitation.
I'm not sure if i'm clear ?

    No, it doesn't work like that. If DCLUX1 is your WAN interface, enable QoS for it and set its uplink and downlink speeds correctly.  Then, make the settings I suggested above.

    Thanks for your reply but before break my actual configuration to follow your idea, I want to understand something.
    If my configuration is not good, why when I make a test on speedtest.net or download file from internet with Guest access, I see my my limitation activated ? I mean, I can donwload only for 60ko/s so limitation works. So I can't understant why my configuration is not good in fact ?

    Hi Angeli ,

    If your configuration is working properly , you will 128Kbps Upload & Download Speed.(Not 60Kbps).

    Please make below changes

    1) Make ACCG1 interface speed back to 102400kbit/sec (If this is it's original speed)
    2) Enable QOS on the DCLUX1 if its your WAN interface
    3) Create traffic selector "Guest (Network) -> Any -> Any"
    4) In Bandwidth Pools select you guest interface ACCG1 , limit the download by Bandwidth (kbit/s) => 1 & Specify upper bandwidth Limit (kbit/s) => 1024
    5) In Bandwidth Pools select you guest interface DCLUX1 , limit the upload by Bandwidth (kbit/s) => 1 & Specify upper bandwidth Limit (kbit/s) => 1024

    P.S. => Considering ACCG1 - Guest interface & DCLUX1 - Wan Interface

    Sorry for dealy, no time to test it until now.
    So if I resume :

    1 : Ok
    2 : OK
    3 : OK
    4 : OK (i think becaus It's not notice filed download)
    5 : NOK
    - Are you sure I must write here DCLUX1 ? It's not a mistake ? My guest is ACCG1
    - If It's a mistake, why I must create this second line ?
    - In my version of Astaro, It's not defined if we speak about down or upload ? (see screen)

    Yes To control your download you configure the QOS in the ACCG1 interface



    - If It's a mistake, why I must create this second line ?



    And to configure Upload you must configure QOS on the WAN/Internet Interface which is DCLUX1


    - In my version of Astaro, It's not defined if we speak about down or upload ? (see screen)


    This thing is not mentioned any were we need to understand the traffic flow & configure the QOS on the outgoing interface.

    For the Download => Out going interface is the  ACCG1
    For the Upload => Out going interface is the  DCLUX1
