can't get to internal address

We are a multiple location business with one location using an Astaro firewall.  This location is not able to resolve a local web address hosted internally at another location.  Both locations are connected via a tunnel and there are static Windows DNS entries for the address (astaro DNS is not used at this location).  I am able to ping the IP address, but the DNS times out when trying to access the webpage.  I believe Astaro does not know the address is a local address and is trying to search the internet for the address rather than the specified DNS entry.  Can this be fixed with a web filtering exception, or is something else needed?  Thanks in advance for the help.
