High Bandwith Usage

Hi everyone, im new in Sophos-Astaro, and i wanted to known some things about this technology, this is my first post as you can see... so, for first time ...i have a few problems or doubts...

about few days i experiencing latency and delay problems on my network[:(], it has affected rather the network performance and accordingly I have been reviewing the reporting of my appliance and found an application which I have not any knower, "Sophos Content Filter Framework Server" which is the function in the appliance and that can affect my network[:S]

How i can solve this[:S], somehow I can limit bandwidth used by this application or service, or I can cut the root of this function? and how I can do

    I have the EXACT same problem... going NUTS here... Sophos support from my country says that´s "normal" behavior ?

    It behaves worst when we ocassionally reboot the appliance, in the reports it show´s more than 300 GB downloaded from Sophos Content Framework Filter... normally it´s 20~30 GB daily !!!

    ps: We have an 8 Megabit link, imagine the impact of this high volume of traffic during normal workdays just for content filter.

    I just want to know, what is the function of Sophos Content Filter Framework Server, why it have much bandwith usage?, cuz i think is not normal :S.

    The appliance have 9.103-5 version, and now not have much bandwith usage, but is a strange behavior that Sophos Content Filter Framework Server have that Bandwith Usage, that impact in the network perfomance :/. it has a relation with the Webfilter activation?


    Is there are a solution for this behavior?.

    I half-expected to see that you were using Endpoint, but you aren't.  Try setting Antivirus for HTTP, SMTP and SSL to single-scan and then selecting the Avira engine in 'System Settings'.  If that doesn't fix this, then make sure you aren't caching a local copy of the categorization database:
    # cc set http sc_local_db none
    # /var/mdw/scripts/httpproxy restart 

    Any luck with either of those?

    Tried last week for about two days, no change in behavior.

    Look today the relation between traffic and content filter.
