Strange traceroute between UTMs

Hello everyone,
I've got some S2S tunnels from UTMs to the UTM-Cluster @our main site 

When I trace from an internal host in the branch to an internal host in the main LAN I get some strange results

The following steps are taken:
1) Coreswitch
2) UTM branch
3) ??? wrong IP/hostname should be headquarters UTM
4) Coreswitch headquarters
5) host

3 and 5 are the same

Why is that?

    Hi ,

    Are you using VLANs ,
    You sent an image with responding of cores switch in both sides , why is that ? I can understand it only if you are using VLANS , otherwise core switch does not need to show in the trace , and default gateway should be the UTM.

    Please provide more info .

    yes we are using VLANs on both sites.

    The core switches do inter-VLAN routing. The UTM is their default gateway.
    So them being in the trace is expected

    Any other questions?

    What boggles me is just that the destination is shown in the position of the remote UTM + it's real position in the trace.

    UTMs are set to pass trace/ping on and be trace/ping visible
