DHCP IPv4 & Static IPv6 on same interface

Hi,

I was wondering if it's somehow possible to configure IPv4 via DHCP and IPv6 static on the same interface?

My ISP requires static configured IPv6 and does not allow a static configured IPv4, even though it's also static - as soon as the lease expires, IPv4 connectivity is gone. 

Furthermore I'm not quite sure how to configure my subnet correctly. The WAN-IPv6 my provider has assigned to me is in a /64 subnet - the IPv6 range that was assigned to me is a /48. When I have a look at "Interfaces & Routing" -> "IPv6" it states the /64 from my WAN-IP as subnet. How can I change this to the /48 net?

    Hi,
    leave both IP4 and IPv6 as DHCP on your external interface and that should work correctly. If the ISP has done the right thing it just means you have a static network connection assigned to your userid, but will be managed by a DHCP server.
    The internal address you assign to your internal interfaces is /64 as subnets of you /48.
    Assume your /48 id 2001:1234:1234::/48
    2001:1234:1234:abcd::1/64 for one internal internal interface
    2001:1234:1234:abce::1/64 for your second internal interface

    I'm afraid that's not the case. IPv6 is not assigned by DHCPv6 and needs to be configured manually, but there is an router advertisment for the /64 prefix - so the interface configures itself by EUI-64(?) and gets the wrong IP. 


    The internal address you assign to your internal interfaces is /64 as subnets of you /48.
    Assume your /48 id 2001:1234:1234::/48
    2001:1234:1234:abcd::1/64 for one internal internal interface
    2001:1234:1234:abce::1/64 for your second internal interface


    The WAN-IP that I should use looks like this:

    2001:1234:1234:1234::10/64

    with Gateway:

    2001:1234:1234:1234::1/64


    And the /48 subnet:

    2001:1234:abcd::/48


    So the subnet where the WAN-IP is in, is a completly different network.
