Opening Port to Multiple internal IPs

Hi All,

I am very new to Astaro. We have an Astaro Security Gateway V8. We need to open port 43 and forward this port to a group of Users/PCs. 

Can this be done on our device and if so can someone please give me some detailed instructions on how to achieve this.

    If you are talking about a port forwarding with DNAT: this is not possible, one port can only be forwarded to a single IP in your internal net.

    If you only mean a firewall rule allowing incoming traffic: define a Network Object of type "Network Group" and put all the PCs in there. Now you can use that group in a firewall rule.

    Hi ,

    Like scorpionking already answered forwared a port to multiple ip addresses is not possible and not because of the UTM , tcpip is not build to broadcast connections or port to multi ip addresses .
    Please explain exactly what you want to do.

    My Client wanted a group of developers to use a desktop application which requires port 43 to be open. He only wanted certain members of staff to use this software so asked that the port only be open for these users/PCs. 

    However, if the only way for this to work is to fully open this port for everyone then they will accept this solution also. 

    Can someone please explain how to globally opening port 43 for all users/pcs?

    Hi ,

    If I got you right , you want port 43 to be open from your clients internal network to the Internet or so.
    If that is the case just create s network group and add them there or add all your LAN , depends what you want to open ( only them or all the LAN net )
    Then create a rule selecting them as source , port 43 as service and add ANY ( or the net you want them to access ) as destination.
