DHCP Relay Question

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and hope I'm not duplicating an existing thread.

I have a feeling I know the answer to this, but here goes:

Does activating the DHCP relay affect all wireless networks or can some use the internal DHCP mechanism and others use the relay?

Thanks,

Steve

  • Hi, Steve, and welcome to the User BB!

Say you have two wireless networks, "WLAN0 (Network)" and "WLAN1 (Network)," and that you have an "Internal (Network)."  You can put "WLAN1" and "Internal" into 'Interfaces' to have WLAN1 devices use a separate 'DHCP Server' in "Internal (Network)."  Then, you can create a DHCP server in the UTM for WLAN0.

It may be possible to leave "Internal" out of 'Interfaces', but I haven't tried that.  Please let us know if that works.

    Cheers - Bob
  • Thanks, I'll try that and let you know.
