Bridging. Centurylink/Actiontec. C1000A

Is it possible to connect a Centuylink c1000a to a Utm on a virthal machine?

Im new to dsl and am puzzled as to whAt is possible.  I may be trying something that wont work.

Steps ive tried:

Set actiontec to bridged.
Set utm external interface to PPPoE
Connected latter to ethernet interface on Actiontec.

No connections.

PPPOE log gets "Timeout waiting for PADO packets.  Unable to complete Discovery PPPoE

  • Hi,
    1. What VM Hypervisor are you running?

    2. How is the NIC configured?
Is there a VSwitch, or is the NIC directly assigned to the VM?

    3. Astaro/UTM version #?

  • Things are connecting intermittently.
I'm finding the UTM shows link down when it's not - full network functionality.  [shrug]

    1.  Hypervisor:  VMWare ESXi
    2. NIC Configuration: Dual Gagabit Intel running full duplex.
Configured as DSL PPPoE without the vDSL option
