ap30 + wrt54gl

Hi,

Is it possible to Extend or Bridge between Sophos Ap30 and a wrt54gl linksys router (default firmware or ddwrt, openwrt) ?

    I have two floors, the ap30 is located in one.... it would be great if I could use the wrt54gl to repeat/extend the signal.

    I don't know... I think that if you only have one SSID, it should work, but iirc you always cut bandwidth in half anytime you add a repeater.

    If you have multiple SSIDs, it'd be near impossible.

    Adding another AP30 would probably be best, but what kind of building is it, and how big? 
    Have you tried mounting the AP30 on the ceiling of the top floor?

    Bandwidth is lower when repeating.

    DD-WRT can usually be set to a repeater mode but that depends on which version of their firmware you have, and that can sometimes depend on the version of your wrt hardware. A wrt54gl should be able to run v24sp2 so then it should work. I find v24sp2-12262 pretty stable for what I do. I think wirelessly, it would be best if DD-WRT could run in WDS AP mode. I have had good success with that but usually it's two DD-WRTs talking to each other.
