DynDNS BadAuth.

Hi there,

I´m new here and with the UTM9 Firewall. I tryed to set up a DynDNS because i have no fix IP from my provider... I am shure that i typed in the correct password and user, i tryed the same login data, with that i log on in the dyndns hoster website dyndnss.net. I also tryed the username and password that i become when i register a new dyndns domain name by this hoster . that also dont work ... 

i receive that error system message :

My set up is the internet -> router from the provider -> local network to the firewall  -> wan firewall whith dhcp -> internal lan to the internal network ...

Could it be that the router from the provider is blocking something ?

    I have double, triple checked username and password with the dyndns site so it isn't that.  I have also been using DynDNS for a few years and all worked fine up until 6-8 weeks ago.

    What does this mean in the error?

              
    Invalid Value for keyword 'ip' = ''


    Is that a clue?  is there no IP address in the config file?

    Found the answer!!!!

    On the DynDNS site you are allowed to login using your email address or a separate username with the same password.  I swear I have always used the email address in the UTM but that doesn't work, you have to use the separate username or it fails.

    Where in the DynDNS can i set or find a separate user just for the DynDNS clients authentication?

    Hi

    I was on the phone to Dyn because I couldn't figure out how to add a CName record, and then asked about ddclient because I couldn't get that to login either.  The guy said you need to create a new dynamic DNS user, which we did.  You give it a custom username and password and then it appends a random stamp to the front of the username.  Using the username and password of this user, ddclient worked right away.

    We created the user by first deleting the A record I had put manually.  Towards the top there were tabs 'Simple Editor', 'Services', 'Zone Options', etc.  Under 'Quick Tasks' you click 'Create Dynamic DNS' and go from there.  Hope this helps.
