UTM 9 and a secondary DNS Server. Slave zone.

I'm installing a server to run as a secondary DNS Server of the UTM 9.

  • The DNS Service on the UTM is not intended to be a full-featured DNS Server --- It does not support Zone Transfers in its default configuration.  You could probably force it to do it via editing of some config files, manually, via the shell, but that would void your support and maintenance agreement with Sophos, if we're talking about a commercially licensed version in this case.

  • Hi, what are you trying to accomplish?

Mirroring the static dns entries in Astaro?

Or, just a second DNS resolver?

  • Yes,

I want to have a sec DNS Server with the same entries as the UTM DNS.
