network connection drops for a few seconds then reconnects

using Gateway 8.

Internet connection drops for a second or two, just long enough to disconnect gaming, voip or remote services but not long enough to register anything in windows.

the only coresponding log i found that had entries that matched the times when this happened was in the service monitor log.

i can see:

standalone ICMP 154.54.27.17 changed state to OFFLINE
standelone ICMP 154.54.27.17 changed state to ONLINE

several of these correspond to the times when we notice the disconnect issue.

Since i'm not using load balancing and only have 1 interface connection, any help on what is causing the issue would be great.

    Hi, 

    It looks like the internet connection is going down.

    You might want to talk to your ISP about it.

    FYI, you might want to turn on Uplink Monitoring so you can get email notifications if the line goes down.

    Ya,

    already checked with ISP and modem logs. There hasn't been an outage on their end with my connection. 

    It is possible that the machine that Astaro is running on is having issues as it is an older dual core box but i was hoping that there was more information as to what that error could be and if it was actually related to the problem. It seems coincidental but it is the only entries that match up with the times that I'm seeing the affects.

    It's not unusual for there to be momentary blips on home connections, so it's not surprising that your ISP said there were no disruptions - they don't see blips as "disruptions."  It's possible that you have a problem with your modem or NIC, but my bet is on Barry's guess and that there's not much you can do.
