Restore backup files between appliances

Hi folks,

Someone has succeeded to restore backup files between Astaro Appliances, for example a backup file from a asg320 to an as220? Can be this possible?

    Since we're on this topic, how about from a stand-alone ASG install on my own hardware, to a VMware install? I'd hate to have to redo all my settings, but I'm just not sure how the VM and its network setup would affect everything.

    Since this is not an Astaro Appliance, the same license works in both situations.  It's the difference between licensing by number of IPs and licensing by appliance capability.

    As long as the destination device has at least the same number of NICs as the source uses, and the version of firmware on the destination is the same, or newer, than the source, you can migrate via backup/restore easily.  If the destination system is a different model appliance, or is a differing platform (Hardware vs. Software, Virtual, etc.), you will be prompted to install the proper license after a restore... once you upload the proper license, everything will work fine.

    Thanks, the migration is from a asg320 to an asg220, as far as I remember both have the same number of NICS, so this is done [:D].
