L2TP/IPSEC connection to outside problem

Hello all,

i'm using an L2TP/IPSEC connection to be able to see catch up TV in other country than mine.

i notice that when i'm connected using this VPN client my astaro is cuting the speed by 2 so basically i have normally 4MB and when i'm connected through this VPN i have 2MB ... the astaro is clearly the problem cause if i bypass the astaro by plugin the computer behind the modem everything is OK.

Any idea ?

    Interesting - what other country?

    This sounds like a hardware problem.  You might try setting the NIC for the External interface to 10Mb and 100Mb fixed, half- and full-duplex.  If that doesn't fix the problem, then try lower MTUs in the interface definition.

    It does this even if i use the vpn for my o n country (france).

    I will check what you are tellig me then i will maybe play with MTU.

    I will keep you posted of the result.

    Hey Bob,

    So i don't know where i can change the interface speed.  i searched but can't change it .. i can see the info but don't have change option.

    also i change the MTU from 1500 to 1480 as i found this with my provider ... but i bring more problems with website. 

    if you can help on changing interfaces speed.
