PPOE - Bridge - HA Active / Passive

Dear all,

Can you help me for theses configuration :

Actually I have only one astaro.
This astaro interface configuration are :
eth0 - LAN
eth1 - PPOE
I've connected one modem on eth1 in bridge mode.

Now I would add anothe Astaro for HA Active / Passive.

But the modem, in bridge mode, can"t connect on both astaro ?

Have you a solution ?

I test this configuration but cannot works :

eth0 : 192.168.1.200
IP GW DEFAULT : check
IP GW : 192.168.1.254

set the modem with static IP 192.168.1.254
set the setting ppoe on the modem (internet connection works)

    This seems like several different questions.

    If the modem is in bridge mode, why isn't the public IP on eth1 of the Astaro?

    To connect your modem to both Active/Passive nodes, you will need to connect all three to a small switch.

    eth0 : 192.168.1.200
    IP GW DEFAULT : check
    IP GW : 192.168.1.254

    You cannot have the same subnet (192.168.1.0/24) on another interface.  The default gateway should exist only on the external interface.

    I says :

    On my modem (DSL), I set the login and password deliver by ISP.

    The modem initiate connection to internet (PPOE),

    ISP deliver IP to the modem,

    The IP adresse depands on login and password.

    This explication is more explicit ?



    For the first point, and If I better explained, you understand why this is not possible (set public IP on astaro interface)

    Je ne suis pas là, mais, à mon avis, il serait possible de mettre le modem en « bridge » et d’avoir l’IP publique sur l’interface externe de l’Astaro.  L’Astaro peut très bien agir comme client PPPoE, même en « Haute Disponibilité ».

    Sauf ça, est-ce que j’ai assez bien expliqué les connexions en Active/Passive ?
