Adding New Subnet: Step-By-Step??

Hi Gang,

I do not work with Astaro devices on a daily basis and I am not that familiar with their terminology, best practices, etc...

We are using an ASG220 and only have 1 existing /24 subnet. I need to add an additional /24 subnet for a different part of the building. Both subnets will need to communicate with each other and they will need access to the internet.

Is there some sort of step by step guide or how to available that I can use for reference for setting up the interface, defining the network, etc. ?

    Hi dkirk,
    I am also a new user testing astaro 220 (bridged mode), I have the same situation, so what I did is to assign astaro an additional address, under:
    interfaces and routing, interfaces, additional addresses and there just assign an IP to the internal interface.  If your new subnet is say 10.10.2.0/24 just add name, on internal interface, put ip address as say 10.10.2.6/24 and thats it.  Also make sure to make a static routes for gateways for both networks under static routing example for network 10.10.10.0/24 the gateway is 10.10.10.254 and for network 10.10.2.254 the gateway is 10.10.2.254.  Thats it.   Note that in my case the astaro is working in a bridged mode, it had one internal IP 10.10.10.6 by assigning additional IP 10.10.2.6 I was able to see astaro as https://10.10.2.6:4444.   Good luck!

    Dkirk, ideally, you should setup a new interface for the additional network.
