ASG120 - External Traffic monitoring

Hi all,

I need help with my strange probem (as for me) with ASG120. Few days ago our ASG120 stopped working few times, actually each 2-3 days we must do hard turn on/off and it works for a while again.

I am not sure, but because of that I started to watch network bandwidth in log management and noted, we have really big traffic on external interface. Unfortunatelly, I am not very good in understanding this monitoring, because I am not sure, what it can be, but when I click on External Interface, we have more than 90% of this traffic going out on HTTP protocol. For example, for today we have 2GB trafic on external interface, on that is 1,9GB OUT.

Maybe simple help about explaining how monitoring of External Interface work would help me to identify, if its OK or not.

Of course, I understand, that big traffic is not conected to stoped working of ASG120, but with this, we have more than 95% of CPU utilization (not always) and also more than 80% of RAM usage (of 1GB).

    I wonder if there's not an accidental misconfiguration somewhere.  Try resoring a backup from a week before the problem started.

    unfortunatelly, this ASG is in production environment, so I can not do it now. But I think, that this issue is longer than few weeks, hope I will find backup.

    What I see is, that we have doubled traffic than before - unfortunatelly, not sure when is "before" [:)]

    Doing a configuration restore does not cause a reboot.  The only disruption would be to an upload/download in progress - it would have to be restarted.  Outside of that, normal browsing, email, etc. are not affected.

    You say you don't know when "before" is.  Does that mean the traffic is not showing in the graphs on the Executive Reports?

    Sorry for late answer, unfortunatelly, we have not archived executive reports so I only read them (in email) every evening, then delete.

    Thats why I am afraid, when it started to happen, because honestly, I did not solve it when it started to happen [:(] my fault.

    What regards puting old configuration, do I lost all changes I have done, am I right ?

    In 'Reporting', you should have graphs in each section for last day, last month, last year.  Perhaps you can get an idea from there.
