we've two virtual ASGs v8.202 with the same setup in hardware.
we want to have a fallback solution for security reasons.
the problem is, as soon as we activate the hot_standby mode (active/passive) the webaccess stops to work. No ping is possible anymore and no traffic runs through the network to the Internet anymore.
we gave the master ID 2 and 1 for slave.
in the first place we started the HA on master, waited about 3-5 minutes and then activated the HA on slave. both have the same password and different names.
on the console we still can access both systems and the setup-tool "cc". after switching off the /ha/status$ to =off and reboot both ASGs the webaccess panel is available again. but obviously no HA.
is there a trick we don't know? do we have to setup any firewall rules before the HA setup? (don't think so, because we can't create rules for an undefined adaptor, nor?)
after activation of the HA we can see this error in the log-window before the website kills itself: "ETHTOOL_GLINK failed. Operation not supported"
and "eht2 shutting down"
