[8.201] Web Security Reports

Web Security Reporting in 8.200 changed quite a lot. I believe to better, but some basic things are missing which were included in reports until 8.103 and very useful;

In all reports
 Results (number of hits, users or domains)
 Requests and duration %, 
 Totals

I must prepare monthly report of web usage for our management, Total web traffic and sum of requests are two data provided in report.
With new reporting there is no such data any more.

Another thing I am missing is blocked usage report.
There is only possibility to view Blocked Urls and Categories, but no way to find blocked users.
Top blocked users in older reports was perfect thing to find out computers with malicious software installed.

Maybe I am just lost in new style of web reporting, but from my point of view reporting in older versions is much more intuitive and useful.

    As far as I can tell, all of the previous report information is still available and a lot more, since you are no longer limited to a small number of pre-canned reports, but it also takes more work to get to it.  This is somewhat offset by the fact that you can save a search once you've created it.

    To create reports you have to use a combination of setting the "available reports" dropdown, then adding one or more filters to achieve the desired effect.  Look in the in-line help (blue button with a question mark in the upper right of webadmin) to see a chart of which filters will work with which report type.

    Once we all get used to it, things will be easier.

    It would be nice if someone would add some examples to achieve certain reports to the support wiki though.  Maybe I'll do that in awhile when I get some free time.

    I'm clicking around the web reports for hours and still can't find the blocked sites by users.

    If I select the "User" report, neither "action" or the "URL" can be used for filtering. If I select the "URL", I can filter by "action" (blocked) but it misses the source/user.

    I realy like the way the new reporting works, but it seems to enable the filtering only on the columns fixed in the "available reports" drop-down menu.

    Does anyone know how to list the top blocked sources?

    Hi,
    you can't actually achieve what you are after from the online reports. Your daily and weekly reports have the figures in summary and the section on application control will give you some of the information you are after.

    I suggest that you add a request in the features forum for either the report you are after or added functionality to an existing report eg extra sort fields in logging & reporting -> web security tab. Then make sure you advertise your feature request in this forum to drum up support. Of course it wouod pay to check that somebody else hasn't already created the request and you can add your votes and a note on the urgency.

    I couldn't find any feature request for this, so I created a new one:

    Reporting: Allow filtering on web reports for all fields/columns

    I will vote for features Marcos suggested.
    It is a little bit strange to me that nobody else needs this functionality.
    I still think, that older style of reporting was much better.
