speed problem with astaro / internet connection

Hi,

I have the following setup:
I have an ESX server at home with a mobo with 4 nics onboard (asus server board). From my cable internet modem there is a direct connection to one of the nics, another nic is used for an uplink to an HP switch, my laptop is wired to the same switch. (this is explantion in short ofc).
I have an 120mbit download internet connection, when i connect my laptop diretly to the internet modem, i get the 14mb/s, something it should give me. However, when i connect my isp modem to my esx server and i have an astaro esx installed on there, i get somewhere between 600 and 2mb/s (is variades alot , but usualy below 1mb/s).

I have updated to the VM to version 7 recently, tho i dont know if that has anything to do with the speed issue...

I have checked all network interfaces, they are all set to auto negotiate (hp switch / esx configuration), other then that .. i kind of run out of ideas .. i am hoping someone could help me with this problem.

    Take a look at the process list (under Support) when testing bandwidth, and see if snort or something else is using a lot of CPU.

    If so, try tuning the IPS, etc.

    Well the problem is more (as it looks now) with the adaptors in the astaro VM. 

    I have checked with lsmod which one was being used, and since i had set my nics within the VM to "flexible" it is (according to: VMware KB: Choosing a network adapter for your virtual machine) started as an Vlance interface, then it should initialise to an vmxnet interface. This last part it didnt do, when checking with lsmod i saw it was using the AMD 79C970 module. This is a 10mbit card and ofc wont preform at all. 

    It was getting better once i readded all the nics as a "e1000". Tho still not what is suppose to be. However! .. with my current Astaro VM i cannot choose a vmxnet 2 or 3. I have only 2 options. So i figure this is a bug in the VM ? I noticed when i would do an fresh install from .iso file instead of using the VM package i can select a vmxnet 2 or 3.

    I am wondering if this "problem" will be fixed in a new 8.201 VM package.. or if i should have to do an ISO install (which i prefer not too).
