8.201 Stopped sending [INFO-700] Daily log file archive

Hi there,

since a few days ASG 8.201 stopped sending the Daily log file archive by mail.

In Mail Manager/SMTP Log are no abnormalities. The Daily Executive Report and other notifications are o.k. but no log file archive.

Anyone the same experience, what is the cause and how to fix it?

See if disabling, then re-enabling Remote Logging helps.

You might check the path the email travels. I've had a problem for some time where my ISP drops some report emails because they started looking at the content which contains bad domains and emails. The emails will always be delivered to the internal email server but not to an outside address.

The solution was to send the reports as PDF attachments. If that works for you then you have the same problem and somewhere along the line then email is being rejected.

If you are receiving your email through an 8.201 system you may have other problems since there seem to be issues with the spam filters.

thanks, but they don't "leave" the ASG. Nothing in SMTP log.

Check your management -> notifications section, you might need to update your mail relay information.

why and what kind of settings are required? Please keep in mind: All other reports, like Daily Executive Report, and notifications are working/send fine.

Same problem here, except after upgrade to 8.201 it completely stopped generating the report and send them too.
See attachment.

No settings changed.

The fun part is that I upgraded the firewall on one of the other offices a few days after and it still works on that one.

Sorry guys, I couldn't remember which post I had to ad extra info to.

You might need to enable the mail relay function in the notifications tab.

Some builds automatically enabled it, but not necessarily all.

RFCat_vk thanks.. but I dont really buy that one.

I have two identical firewalls in each end of the country, both upgraded to 8.201 and both working and sending reports every day before the upgrade.

I just compared configuration also under notification and they are identical, meaning mail relay it not setup on any of them.

The firewall in the headquaters send reports just fine, but the firewall at my primary office stopped sending them and even archiving them - actually I have my doubts that they are actually created.

Again, two hardware appliances with identical setup on this part with same firmware version behaving differently.
