DHCP Request Problem on 8.200

Hi there,

i have a Problem with a Cisco Phone getting his IP Address, this is the relevant part of the dhcpd.log:

2011:08:06-13:12:23 firewall-1 dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:0e:38:33:98:52 (SEP000E38339852) via eth0.10
2011:08:06-13:12:24 firewall-1 dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 10.10.10.244 to 00:0e:38:33:98:52 (SEP000E38339852) via eth0.10
2011:08:06-13:12:24 firewall-1 dhcpd: if SEP000E38339852.ducktales.net IN A rrset doesn't exist add SEP000E38339852.ducktales.net 43200 IN A 10.10.10.244: timed out.

can anyone help on that problem?

Hi Robert,
how big is your DHCP IP range?

If possible increase it a little.

It's 54 Addresses, you think thats not enough?

now i assigned a fixed IP and get the following:

2011:08:06-15:21:29 firewall-1 dhcpd: DHCPACK to 10.10.10.12 (f4:6d:04:04:f4:73) via eth0.10
2011:08:06-15:21:30 firewall-1 dhcpd: uid lease 10.10.10.244 for client 00:0e:38:33:98:52 is duplicate on eth0.10
2011:08:06-15:21:30 firewall-1 dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 10.10.10.18 from 00:0e:38:33:98:52 via eth0.10

U=Hi Robert,
a 54 should have been adequate, but it really depends on how many other devices you have on your LAN?
Form little experience I have on the subject, it looks like the fixed address you assigned is assigned to something else or at least your DNS thinks so.
