Because of the physical placement of the Astaro box and Windows Home server in my home (in relation to the incoming cable connection), I've upgraded the Astaro box with 3 NICs (the onboard, and a Dual NIC).
Currently, the onboard NIC is used for the Cable internet connection (WAN, eth0), the primary port of the dual NIC is connected to the main switch in the home (eth1), and the secondary is what I want to use to connect directly to the WHS (eth2).
However, I can't seem to get it to work properly. Upon install of Astaro v8, eth0 and eth1 were automatically configured properly for use. eth2 was not configured. All worked fine in the network. When I turn on Bridge mode and bridge eth1 and eth2, all seems fine as well.
However, when I connect the WHS to the eth2 interface, none of the PCs on the eth1 side can see or access the WHS on the eth2 side, and vise versa, but the WHS can access the internet just fine. This behavior is the same whether I use a normal Cat5e or a crossover cable.
I also tried disabling the bridge, and assigning the eth2 interface a IP address in the internal network range and it also did not work (Destination Unreachable).
I really need help setting this up as the WHS is also the main TV server for the home. Without direct access, none of the SageTV clients can access the server. [:(]
