IPv6 Subnetting issue

I use freenet6 ipv6 tunnel, and I also manage a my packet filter by subnet for ipv4.
So I decided to give each of my ipv4 subnet a ipv6 subnet as well.. but I got confused.

Freenet6 give me a /56 block, but in astaro it show a /64 subnet on the interface.

It seem and /64 subnet cannot be sub-subneted..   So do I really have a /64 or a /56?

If what I really have it should be possible to create 256 /64 subnet within a /56 ...

Is there a way I can create subnet with the freenet6 ?

    In WebAdmin in the IPv6 section on the Global Tab, it says /64 or /56?  It should say /56.

    Also, be aware before you get into complex configuration when using Freenet6, that they use dynamic address assignment (they say that if you use Authenticated that it will be static, but reality does not bear this out), so your subnet will change every once in awhile.

    Ipv6 global does say: 2001:5C0:1107:***X::/56  but in interface IPv6 section it say:

    2001:5C0:1107:***X::1 with Netmask: 64

    Well, It seem that thing work fine after editing the interface an setting the netmask to 56. But I do remember a tutorial from Billybob saying the KEEP the netmask to /64, not sure why....

    Your tunnel broker should give you two address spaces. The first one is an address for the actual IPv6 tunnel that connects your site to the tunnel broker. This will be either an address with a /64 or a /128 netmask. This is applied to your tunnel interface on your router.

    Your broker will also give you a delegated prefix - your internal networks - which will either be a single subnet /64, or multiple subnets /56 (or /48). Subnets of your delegated prefix are then assigned to different interfaces on the internal ports of your router, with a /64 for each.

    Say you receive 2001:5c0:1100:abcd:1200::/56, you can assign 2001:5c0:abcd:1200::/64 to 2001:5c0:12ff::/64 to different networks.

    LAN1 could be 2001:5c0:1100:1201::1/64
    LAN2 could be 2001:5c0:1100:1202::1 /64
