Does anyone else out there have a similar problem like this?
I just set up a new Windows 7 Professional on a dominantly XP-based network. The gateway for this network is an Astaro SG v 8.102. For some reason, the Windows 7 PC is unable to get out to the Internet. The network systray icon keeps saying "No Internet Access" even though it is accessible on the LAN. I am able to ping other machines as well.
I disconnected it and plugged it into a cable modem for a different network and it works! I plug the Windows 7 machine back into the Astaro-protected network and once again "No Internet Access".
Then I checked the arp tables and discover the MAC address for the internal NIC of the Astaro (the default gateway for the Windows 7 machine) is completely different from what I find in the WebAdmin. Once I change it to a static entry everything works. The funny thing is another Windows 7 machine acted in the same manner before and showed the same exact MAC address. Once I changed it to the correct one, everything was fine.
Keep in mind the Astaro-protected network consists of a bunch of XP machines that exhibit none of this behavior. They have been and are working perfectly. Only the Windows 7 machines had issues communicating with the Astaro.
Is it the Windows 7 machine? Is it the Astaro?
