Finding MAC address

I am trying to figure out how to find the MAC address tied to a statically assigned IP. The pc is at a different location and is powered off and no one is there currently. Is there some log or something that would have the IP and MAC of the PC? I tried searching the logs for the IP and getting the MAC but I was unable to get the MAC.

You can use the 'arp' command, but if the PC has been off for awhile, it won't show up.

Did you look in the packetfilter log? That logs IPs and MACs.
