Can't access IPv6 internet

I have configured a 6to4 gateway as specified in the howto and added an "any ipv6" to "any ipv6" packet filter rule, and yet i cannot ping6 my way out to even ::192.88.99.1 (which is the gateway address i'm using). I can ping my way around the lan and I get a prefix on 6to4 from someplace but nothing can get in or out of the lan on ipv6 via the 6to4 tunnel (teredo from my laptop works fine). Is there something special I missed?

    Hi,
    welcome aboard.

    You shouldn't need a 6->6 Packet filter rule besides opening your network to everyone on the internet the existing packet filter rules will automatically cover IPv6.

    If you look at your existing rules you should see a small 4 and a small 6 indicating they work for both protocol stacks.

    Do you have ping enabled on the ASG, icmp etc?

    the 6 -> 6 rule was to ensure that there was nothing unintentionally impeding the packets,
    I have everything outbound enabled including icmp, and only one rule shows as being ipv4 only but it has an ipv6 twin.
