Unwanted outgoing ping initiated by ASG

Hello,

I use ASG for home and I just noticed that the Astaro box sends ping to a specific IP every 15 second and sometimes every 5 seconds.

The ping requests contains the following data:
"Astaro Security Gateway: Host Alive Check"

The destination IP of the ping is on the internet (same ISP as mine) but it has nothing related with me.

So here are my questions:
- Could you help me to understand which settings can generate this behavior ?
- How to fix this issue ?

Do you have enabled "Uplink Monitoring"?

oh great. I just missed this setting during my investigations.

But why ASG choose such external IP when I activate Uplink Monitoring ?

it has to ping something outside of your network to make sure it can get out..otherwise it won't know if your uplink has failed or not. if the ping fails most likely your uplink has failed..if the ping is successful at least i traffic works(although dns may be borked). If you don't want to use the feature turn off uplink monitoring..it's not a security or privacy risk as it doesn't transmit any kind of data..it's just a ping.
