Uplink Balancing - DSL line changes state periodically

Hello,

I'm trying to setup Uplink Balancing with my two WAN lines. First one ist a Deutsche Telekom CompanyConnect (10MB/s, low latency) and a cheap DSL line (6MB/s, propably higher latency).
The DSL line changes it's state from ONLINE two OFFLINE and vice versa periodically. With automatic monitoring it doesn't work at all. The state changes every few seconds. So I tried to set a manual monitoring host (Google). This works better but not really good.
The CompanyConnect line doesn't have this problem.

Is there anything I can do or do I have to open a support case?

Thanks.

Stephan

  • You can open a support case, but I bet the answer is to get rid of the unreliable service or insist the ISP replace its equipment and provide better than marginally-useful service.  That would be unacceptable even for a home user.

    Let us know the result.

    Cheers -Bob
  • A short feedback from here:
Our ISP really had an issue droping the line every few minutes for some seconds. They fixed it and now everything is working great. So Astaro doesn't have a problem here. Sorry for my unnecessary posting.

    Greeting,
    Stephan
