Hi, firstly thank you for taking the time to look at my problem and I hope you are able to help me with it.
I am trying to create a second network at home as a lab for me to play around with various technologies and learn what I can.
I currently have a thomson gateway box which servers as the modem/router/wireless ap/switch/dhcp server etc and was provided by my ISP (192.168.1.254). My family all connect to this via the wireless AP and recieve a dynamic address given out by the box.
I have a wireless bridge that goes from the switch on my ISP router into an unmanaged switch in my lab. Hanging off this switch is a network printer that all members of my family have access to print to (192.168.1.25)
I have added an Astaro security gateway (V8) to this switch which i would like to control the trafic entering / leaving the lab network from here on in. ASG is running on a Dell Optiplex 755 (Dual core, 2GB ram, 2NICS). The external interface is connected to the switch that is mentioned above (192.168.1.253)
The other side of the ASG is connected to another unmanaged switch on the Internal card. ASG provides DHCP addresses to devices connected to the Internal card (ASG Internal IP : 192.168.2.1 / DHCP Pool 192.168.2.2-254). Hanging off this switch is my computer (192.168.2.3) server A (192.168.1.31) server b (192.168.1.32)
All subnets are 255.255.255.0
The problem i am getting is any devices on 192.168.2.0/24 are unable to speak to any devices on 192.168.1.0/24 except for the router (192.168.1.254). I would like devices on each IP range to be able to communicate with each other.
Do i need to create some form of static route? Will it even work? Am i just talking absolute bull?
Again I appreciate you taking the time to read this and help me. I understand it could be a tad confusing so ive added a basic network diagram.
