Astaro nic issue

I just got a astaro 220 gateway with version 8.02 on it ive configure the device with 192.168.1.1/24 address with DHCP and Ive configure eth1 as wan for internet service to come into it  I cant figure out how to make eth4-7 give out DHCP address or just act like a switch i get a DHCP address from eth0 and that is it i do not get anything from eth2-7 but they do light up and are detected

    If you want the interfaces act like a switch like on a home router. Go to "Interfaces & Routing" -> "Interfaces" -> "Link Aggregation". In the first group select your eth0 interface as the "Convert interface" and then tick of eth4-7 and enable the group.

    However, I would put a switch in front of the Astaro for prestandard reason.

    I tryed that and the astaro locked up and wouldnt give dhcp ip address and wouldnt let me access the unit either had to go back to factory to fix it i did bridging and it work fine  but thanks for the advice

    Sorry about that. It seems that when you create a link aggregation the interface changes from eth0 to lag0 and it's possible that the DHCP server still served eth0.

    You should however still have been able to access the webadmin interface if you configured your computer with a static IP and then you could have reconfigured the DHCP server.

    David, with that group of servers, don't you already have a domain controller?  The DHCP service offered by the Astaro is not really a full-service offering.  Erucolindo's presecription should work fine though.

    One gotcha that will be fixed in V8.100 is the ease with which you can bind a host/network definition to an interface.  You should check your definitions and set 'Interface:' to > wherever it's not.  Normally, the only definition that should be bound to an interface is the "Internet" definition that is delivered by Astaro and cannot be changed.

    Right now all the servers are offline im going to reinstall os's on th but wanted to get astaro installed and configured and need dhcp not doing any crazy i think max clients on my network is 10
