dilema: MTU

On ASG 8.001, WAN-internet interface (Giga network card) is connected to the router (interface 100Mbit) and they both have MTU set to 1500.
LAN interface (Giga network card- MTU 1500) is connected to the Gigabit SWITCH (MTU 1518)

1. is it right to set up the MTU to 1518 on LAN interface so it could be indentically set as switch?
2. can this setup make any problems (WAN MTU 1500 and LAN MTU 1518) and if it can, which ones?

    All the network devices support jumbo frames but I want to know will this make any problems on ASG because WAN has to be 1500 and LAN on ASG would be 1518.
    The question is about problems that ASG could make, but not network?

     Theoretically you shouldn't have a problem unless the df flag is set. I have pppoe dsl connection and my LAN is on 1500 mtu and my wan is on 1492 with no apparent problems.

    Test out the jumbo frames and the throughput gain that you have using them in your LAN and tell us all your observations[;)]
