router stoped responding

today we had an event that caused my office to disable our Astaro router and no longer us it until i can find this bug.

From the information I've gathered from the other employees they were working fine and then all of the sudden no web pages would pull up and the 3 computers we had that were running web based virus scanners all suddenly stopped.  This coincided with a CPU spike to 100% (pic1.jpg). i have reviewed some of the logs from the time when it occurred and can find nothing out of the ordinary.

My question is, is there any way to tell what process caused the 100% CPU spike? And has anyone had any previous experiences with Astaro locking up like this?

Also some notes on the are astaro. it is a software based Astaro, two network cards one intel the other realtech, 1GB ram and a descent CPU.

Any help on this would be appreciated seeing as my boss is now having second thoughts about selling these to clients.

    Hi, Michael, and welcome to the User BB!

    Is this V8.001?  It seems like your hardware is underpowered - what are you using?  Between 22:00 and 23:00 the night before, CPU was running about 75% - what would have caused that load?

    Yes is 8.001.

    I've considered the possibility that the hardware was underpowered and that defiantly could be the problem. i found out the system this was ruing on only had a 1.3 GHz P3 in it. I have some different hardware at my house were going to bring in and try now. if dual xeon 2.4s don't do the trick i don't know what will.

    As for the 22:00 - 23:00 i'm not sure what that was ether. it would be nice if there was a notification that could be sent out if the CPU ever spiked above a cretin percentage and stayed there oh longer than a minute lets say.
