SMTP Log & fw-notiy.net Going Crazy

All,

I noticed the following in the SMTP log today. Next question is how do I correct the attempts to fw-notify.net? It looks like the ASG is trying to connect but is not able. My configuration for the DNS forawrders is for DynDNS. The packet filter has DNS blocked, forcing DynDNS at the resolver. The PC's use the ASG as the DNS server. I can tracert fw-notify from the PC. Advice?....

    My configuration for the DNS forawrders is for DynDNS. 

    Not sure what you mean by that, but these are attempts to send mail from the Astaro to a 'Notification recipient' as configured on the 'Global' tab of 'Notifications'.  You'll also see there that the email address listed above is the 'Sender' configured on that tab.

    Is it possible that the notification address is an email domain hosted internally?  If so, then try adding a 'Static Route' in Astaro DNS with the internal IP for the FQDN found in your public MX record.

    Did that do it, Jim?

    Hi Bob,

    I spent a bunch of time trying to track the cause down. The result was a reload of ver 8.00. I did not add the 8.01update. Also I did a manual rebuild rather than using the config file. As this is used at home and I documented everything for the most part I am set. I have encountered one issue with the Network security stats today not being displayed, but will start another thread on that. Thanks for your help.
