DUAL WAN - Policy Routing for Traffic Balacing

Hi All@Astaro Forum

I actually use a V6.3 ASG, this ASG will be changed by a V8 ASG.

We use a NAT Masquerade + Policy Routing for passing thru HTTP/HTTP & FTP datas toward one ISP (Free), all other TCP/UP traffic in passing thru the second ISP.

Our both routers are setup as external gateway, each router has is own public IP (no firewalling for both routers)

We have two Masquerade :

- One for Free gateway
- One for the second ISP

We use a policy routing to define which TCP/UPD traffic must pass to FREE_GATEWAY.

Can we easilly perform as such behaviour with ASG V8 ??

    Yes, you can.

    Beginning with V7.4, Astaro offers Uplink Balancing and Multipathing.  You might want to replace your SNAT and policy route.  Use Uplink Balancing and a multipathing rule with persistence by interface and the traffic will failover to the other interface if your free connection goes down.

    As mentioned, I performed a setup using Multipath + Mutlipath rules for dispatching some traffic : it works great.
