Hello Friends !
i @home and just added 2nd isp to my astaro asg
i have some basic questions ,can u please help !
using vmware esxi 4 with update 1
i have 3 guest running on vmware esxi (astaro asg 8 ,windows 2008 r2 (w2k8r2 is on lan but want to shift to dmz ) and ubuntu (10.4) (DMZ))
mail server on windows ,ftp and web server is on ubuntu
how the physcial connection are recommended (how many switch are require and lan and dmz should have differant switch ?)
VSNL HAS STATIC IP (adsl router configure as a adsl bridge with wan interface of asg , (not a astaro bridge Interface and Routing >>Bridgeing )wan ip is vsnl )AND BSNL IS ON PPPOE (adsl modem configure as a pppoe auth but configure user name and passwd in the router so when adsl router in on the connection become on (dhcp is off on adsl router), using ip private static (192.168.1.x)) ip to ,anther wan interface is 192.168.1.3
when vsnl fail bsnl takeover perfectly
1)when i am using isp fail over ,that time what dhcp setting i suppose to use at client computer (if i am not using asg dhcp )
2) can i use uplink fail over or multipath used isp for dyndns (both "(bsnl and vsnl ,vsnl has static ip )" interface are used ,still i can used bsnl for dyndns )
3) can i use isp/uplink failover and link aggregation at a time /what is advised
4)if i am using isp failover or multipath that time can i use policy route
5)my mail server is with vsnl if vsnl fail i can send emails with bsnl (in case policy route is configure with vsnl mail will still work ?)
6) my hostname (FQDN) register with vsnl ,if vsnl fail ,how i can reach to my asg over internet ,how do i access my vpn as vpn Override hostname is also from vsnl
7)what is best pratice to use multipath or failover for site-to-site VPN or remote acess
8)what is difference in static route and multipath rules>>(edit) ( Itf. Persistence: by interface)
thank
