email notifications to a email server needing ssl connection

hi all
astaro application related but i guess related to all asg
How does one configure a external smtp gateway for notifications which requires ssl authentication ? for example hosted gmail.com

Colin, I still don't understand the issue. Is gmail rejecting the notifications because you don't have RDNS configured or your Astaro is not on a fixed IP or other? If your ASP has a smarthost, you can configure that on the 'Advanced' tab of 'Management >> Notifications'.
